Introduction
The Transdisciplinary Innovation minor focuses on building the durable skills necessary for today's professional world. It fosters collaboration across majors to give students the breadth of expertise that goes beyond the boundaries of a traditional degree to aggressively address changes in the 21st-century work world, where a sophisticated interdisciplinary understanding makes young professionals more effective in their own field of expertise and enhances their ability to lead and succeed.
To develop the aptitude necessary to be innovators of the future, the minor complements the skill sets of students' majors by preparing them to:
- Adapt to emerging practices and successfully navigate unpredictable challenges.
- Create ethical and sustainable innovations that are rooted in empathy and respect diversity.
- Integrate data and information at different scales to analyze complexity and convey information through multimodal means.
- Lead collaborative teams in the creation and execution of ideas.
Note that this minor is not available to students required to take the Design, Engineering and Commerce Core Curriculum (DEC Core).
