College of Pharmacy (JCP)

About Us

The College of Pharmacy is committed to educating the next generation of individuals who will advance the science and practice of pharmacy. The college has built an excellent education program providing students the opportunity to learn together key information, then directly apply that information in practice. The application of information learned is the key to being able to help individuals and Jefferson students have access to multiple practice environments within the Jefferson Enterprise, while masters students have the opportunity to complete internships within the pharmaceutical industry.

Doctor of Pharmacy students have two other distinct advantages. One is that they are able to learn alongside students in other healthcare disciplines. This helps all students to work together to manage and time what needs to be done in order to achieve the best outcomes. Thomas Jefferson University has a dedicated Center for Interprofessional Education (JCIPE).

The Jefferson enterprise includes multiple pharmacy practice settings. Most incoming students are aware of only a few career options, at Jefferson, students can rotate in many different settings and establish connections with practitioners.

In addition, the college has added two masters programs. The MS in Population Health Pharmacy is available for Doctor of Pharmacy students as a certificate option and to individuals with a PharmD degree in order to advance their career. The MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences program is for those individuals with a degree interested in gaining insight and skill in pharmacy laboratory settings. Individuals in this position pursue a position managing a scientific laboratory or prior to pursuing a PhD program.
