MED 350: Internal Medicine Clerkship
During Internal Medicine clerkship, students will acquire knowledge and skills required to care for adult patients in the hospital environment. This is an eight-week experience; students spend four weeks at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and four weeks at one of our academic affiliates, allowing for exposure to a diverse group of patients. Clinical experiences and didactics focus on pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of disease processes commonly seen in internal medicine and requiring hospitalization. Additional projects will help hone procedural skills, focus on evidence-based and cost-conscious care, and apply literature review to patient care. Students partake in team based care of patients, and will learn the roles and responsibilities.
of various healthcare professionals. Offered at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and affiliate locations (8 weeks total, two 4-week rotations).
